Apart from the villas in the canyons and hills, the City Hall built in 1932 in the Spanish-Baroque style (corner of 450 N. Crescent Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard) and the nearby Beverly Hills Civic Center which is nearing completion, nowhere can one observe better the ambiance of this town which simply radiates affluence than on Rodeo Drive, between Wilshire and Santa Monica Boulevards. In this, the most expensive shopping mile in the world and the meeting point of the international jet-set, can be found 50 or 60 luxury shops and restaurants.
