St Paul's Church Description
"The handsomest barn in England" Inigo Jones called St Paul's Church, which he built in 1633. It is popularly known as the church "with the front at the back", since the portico facing Covent Garden Market square, which looks like the main front, is in fact the east end, while the main entrance is at the west end. St Paul's is also known as the "actors' church", and until the removal of the old fruit, vegetable and flower market to a new site an annual harvest thanksgiving service was held in the church.
