Description
The Millennium Dome was constructed as a celebration of the year 2000 during which it hosted shows and exhibits. Failing to draw the crowds it had anticipated, the Millennium closed at the end of 2000. The future of the dome is currently unclear and negotiations are underway to see if the dome will be reopened for some new purpose or replaced. The current plan is for the site to be used during the 2012 Olympics. In the meantime, the structure is impressive when viewed from the outside. There are good views from the Docklands.
