London - Battersea Park

Having an area of 80 ha (198 acres), Battersea Park was laid out in the mid 19th C on the South Bank of the Thames. Sports grounds, open spaces, a boating lake, as well as various pubs and cafes, make the park a popular rendezvous particularly during the warmer months of the year. There are excellent recreational activities for children.

Some of the highlights in Battersea Park include the Henry Moore Sculptures, the Peace Pagoda donated by Japanese Buddhists, commemorating Hiroshima Day, and the 1861Pump House.

Must-see attractions nearby:
The Pump House has been restored and now houses the Pump House Gallery, a venue focused on contemporary visual arts. The building also serves as a venue for hire with spaces for weddings and other events. Also of interest in the park is the children's zoo.
