Llangollen - International Musical Eisteddfod

Llangollen is famed for the International Musical Eisteddfod held here every summer since 1947, where amateur singers go through their paces alongside famous soloists and choirs from all over the world. Illustrious visitors to the festival have included Yehudi Menuhin, Mstislav Rostropovich and the Vienna Boys Choir.

This event was awarded the 1994 Wales Tourism Award for the best tourism event. The week-long event takes place in early July and includes daily musical, song and dance competitions, with thousands of performers from 48 nations.
