Lillehammer - Town
In Lillehammer's market square (Stortorget) the Municipal Art Gallery (Malerisamling) contains works by Norwegian painters. Northeast of this is the Museum of Road Vehicles. In Nordseterveg can be seen the house once occupied by the writer Sigrid Undset (1882-1949; Nobel Prize 1928).

Lillehammer has a number of interesting monuments commemorating local personalities: Anders Sandvig, in the market square; Sigrid Undset, in front of the Merchants' Hall in Storgata; Ludvig Wiese, "father" of Lillehammer, in Lilla Torget; and at the corner of Kirkegata and Langesgate "Peter the Tower-Man", a local character who specialized in the repair of church towers.
