Appleby Magna, England

The small village of Apple Magna has an early 14th century church and a 15th century manor house, encircled by a moat. There are a number of other historic buildings worth visiting.
Bosworth Battlefield
The Bosworth Battlefield (1485) was the site where King Richard III lost his crown and his life to the future Henry VII. At the visitor center there are displays offering insight into medieval life and the events leading up to the battle.

Market Bosworth, England

Market Bosworth has a large market and a grammar school, founded by Sir Wolstan Dixie and Dr Samuel Johnson, who also taught here. There are many memorials to the Dixie family in he 14th century church. Also worth noting in Market Bosworth is the 18th century town hall, which is an imitation of Hampton Court.
Shackerstone
Schackerstone is the beginning of the Battlefield Line Rail Route. You can catch a steam or diesel train from the Shackerstone Station to the Bosworth Battle Field. The rail station also has a museum of railway collectibles.
Sheepy Magna, England
(Near Leicester)
The two villages of Sheepy Magna and Parva are divided by the River Sence, with its water mill and gossamer millpool. Each has a prominent church - the church in Sheepy Magna was rebuilt in 1778.
