Laurel - Montpelier Mansion

Located on 70 acres of parkland, Montpelier Mansion is an example of Georgian architecture, popular in Maryland in the late 1700's. Major Thomas Snowden and his wife Anne built Montpelier Mansion between 1781 and 1785. The couple hosted many distinguished guests including George Washington and Abigail Adams. Several of the rooms have been furnished as they would have appeared from the end of the 18th century until 1830.
