Lamphun National Museum

At the rear of the large Wat Phra That Haripunchai complex there is a little temple museum with some interesting figures of Buddha from various style periods, especially those in the Chiang Mai style with distinct Dvaravati features. Other exhibits include several old engraved sema stones, bookcases, votive tablets, manuscripts, and some of the gold and silver vessels which were used for the ceremonial washing of the chedi.

A number of other wiharns and monastery buildings, including an open pavilion with a fourfold footprint of Buddha, complete the complex.

In passing it is worth having a look at the typical northern Thai lacquer work on the shutters of an otherwise plain building.
