Romanshorn
From Münsterlingen the Obersee road runs through Kesswil and Uttwil, both with fine half-timbered houses, to Romanshorn (399 m/1,309ft: pop. 8,200), a lakeside resort which is also the largest port on Lake Constance and the base of the Swiss lake steamers (shipyard of Swiss Federal Railroads). To the north of the Bundesbahnhafen (Federal Railroads harbor) lies the Seepark, with the Old Church. The Schloss (now a hotel) dates in its present form from 1829. In the lake, to the north, is the "Inseli", a rocky islet.
