Rheineck
Southeast of the mouth of the Old Rhine is Rheineck (400 m/1,312ft: pop. 3,000), the attractive little Swiss frontier town on the banks of the idyllic Old Rhine. Rheineck has arcaded streets, and old town gate, a Town Hall of 1555, a Late Gothic and Baroque church (Protestant), two imposing 18th C. town houses, the Löwenhof and the Custerhof, and a ruined castle (views).
