Münsterlingen

1.5km/1mi beyond Bottighofen is Münsterlingen (398 m/1,306ft), a hotel resort situated on a peninsula. The church of the Benedictine convent (rebuilt 1709-16), now a cantonal hospital, has a fine Baroque interior, and since 1968, when the lake last froze, has housed the 16th C. bust of St John the Baptist, which traditionally transfers between Hagnau and Münsterlingen whenever the lake freezes.
