Kristianstad - Stora Torg
In the main square of Kristianstad, the Stora Torg, is the Town Hall (1891), on the central gable of which is a statue of Christian IV, with his greeting to the townspeople of Kristianstad, "Frid med Eder" ("Peace be with you"). Also in the square are the Freemasons' Lodge; the Burgomaster's House (1640), which was given its present form about 1800; the 19th century Stora Kronohus, a white building in Empire style which was originally occupied by a court and a regiment of artillery and is still in military hands; and the Municipal Museum, housed in the old Armory (local history, art).
