Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary

Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary is home over one hundred varieties of native birds and over 60 species of migratory birds that flock to the area in large numbers.

Terns, Gulls, Herons, Sandpipers, Whimbrels, and other migratory birds flock to Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary in November and return again in April each year.

The sanctuary is actually spread over several islands at the estuary of the Kadalundi River.

Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary should be avoided during the months of May to July when it expereinces torrential rainfall. A day trip from Kozhikode to explore the sanctuary is perfect for tourists who enjoy birdwatching or photography.
