Korcula - Icon Gallery Galerija Ikona

The Icon Gallery (Galerija Ikona) contains a unique collection of 13th to 15th Century Byzantine Icons and 17th and 18th Century ceremonial pieces. The Byzantine icons are paintings on wood or gold. The collection is primarily from the 17th and 18th Century Korcula sailors, for which the town is so well known, who acquired the pieces on their journeys, especially to Crete.

The Icon Gallery is in the quarters of the brotherhood, not far from the All Saints Church (Svi Sveti) which belongs to the All Saints Brotherhood, the oldest brotherhood on the island of Korcula. The Baroque style church dates to the early 1300s.
