Korcula - Cathedral of St Mark Katedrala Svetog Marka

One of the main attractions in the town of Korcula is the 15th Century, Gothic Renaissance, Cathedral of St Mark (Katedrala Svetog Marka). The beautiful cathedral, on Korcula's main square has a Romanesque portal created by Bonino of Milano, with carvings of Adam and Eve on either side and on top is a statue of St Mark.

The Renaissance ciborium above the altar was done by Marko Andrijic. The remains of St Theodore are held within the cathedral. Above the main alter is a 16th Century painting by Tintoretto, and in the southern nave the "Annunciation" by the same artist. Also of interest are some sculptures in the baptistery, including pieces by Ivan Mestrovic.

Next door to St Mark's Cathedral is the Abbey Treasury of St Mark in the Abbey Palace, which contains a collection of art, jewelry, furniture, and archives.
