Limuru is a town located about 30 miles from Nairobi with tea and coffee plantations in the rolling hills, and forests of eucalyptus. Limuru is home to the Kentmere Club, a private English club housed in an old country inn.
White settlers occupied the area during the colonial days due to its fertile land and excellent weather. The large tea plantations were established and they have become signature landmarks around the town of Limuru.
Northwest of Limuru is an old road that was originally built by Italian POW's during W W II. Halfway along the road is a memorial chapel.
