There is evidence to suggest that the Lost River Cave and Valley in Bowling Green has been inhabited for about 11,000 years. The site was created by the collapse of a large cave system to form the mile-long Cave Valley in which the Lost River rises to the surface in four places.

Riverview was the name given to this property in Bowling Green by Julia and Atwood Hobson due to its proximity to the Barren River. The house was completed in 1872 in the Italianate style and has been restored to represent a period between 1860 and 1890 featuring arched windows, deep eaves with ornamental brackets and painted ceilings. It served as a Confederate munitions magazine during the winter of 1861-62.
Events such as an Easter Egg Hunt, Victorian Antique and Garden Festival, Christmas Candlelight tours along with other special lectures and programs are offered throughout the year.
