St Mary's Church Description
On a 35 m/115ft high graywacke crag stands the Kamenz's principal church, St Mary's (Late Gothic, c. 1400-80), built of the local granite, with graceful sandstone tracery in the windows. The most notable features of the interior are the Marienaltar (rich woodcarving, 15th C.), the Michaelisaltar (1598) and a Crucifixion group of around 1500.
