Kahramanmaras - Old Town and Kapali Çarsi

The covered bazaar is one of the few attractions in Kahramanmaras and much of its present structure dates from the 17th century. In the remains of the old town below the citadel other sights originate from the 15th/16th century and include the Ulu Cami from the Dulkadir-Beys times with some valuable wooden carvings and decorations, the Hatuniye Camii founded in memory of Selim I's grandmother, the Tas Han and the Tas Medrese and mausoleum, which all date from the days of the Dulkadirogullari.
