Jiuquan - Museum of the Great Wall

The Museum of the Great Wall was opened in 1989 and is the only one devoted exclusively to the Great Wall and its history. In the seven rooms, which together occupy an area of 3120sq.m/33,580sq.ft, the visitor can learn about the history of the wall's construction and see the results of recent scientific investigations.

The wealth of exhibits include archaeological finds, photographs, miniature models of various sections of the wall and a piece of electronic apparatus which can project onto a screen the various changes of direction of the wall from the beginning of its construction up to the Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
