Sendai/ Aoba Castle Description
Located at the foot of Aoba Hill are the remains of ramparts - all that is left of Aoba Castle. Relics and mementos of the Date family are displayed in the museum (Sendei Shirit-su Hakubutsukan).

Built in 1600, the castle is located on a 400 foot high cliff and protected on one side by the Hirose River and on the other by the Tatsu-no-Kuchi River. The statue of Date Masamune stands on the grounds.
