Where to Stay & What to See in Jackson

Jackson is the largest population center in the state of Mississippi. The city sees a large number of tourists each year and has a variety of attractions. Some of the most popular of these are the Jackson Zoological Park, Mississippi Governor's Mansion, and Mississippi Museum of Art, among others. The city is well serviced in terms of accommodation and Jackson hotels are generally of the mid range, three star variety.

One of the best Jackson hotels is the Hilton Jackson. This luxury hotel is located right downtown and provides comfortable accommodation. On site are three restaurants including Huntington's Grille, Fitzgerald's, and Wellington's. The hotel also has four executive only floors along with a complementary airport shuttle.

For those interested in staying in one of the historic Jackson hotels, the Clarion Hotel - The Roberts Walthall is one place to consider. This hotel, originally built as a bakery in the 1920's has undergone extensive renovations over the years. The hotel is well located and is nearby the Russell C Davis Planetarium.

There are a number of quality hotels located outside of the city center. The Hampton Inn & Suites Jackson Colliseum is conveniently located off of Interstate 55 and provides all the amenities a business or personal traveler would expect in a mid range luxury hotel. Onsite are an outdoor pool, business center, and fitness room.

Hotels in Jackson are usually busier during the summer months or during special events. If you know you will be traveling through the city during a peak period it may be best to book a hotel in advance.
