Jaca - Cathedral
Jaca's most important building is the Romanesque Cathedral (1040-76), which in later Centuries was altered and given Plateresque decoration. The square tower, the outer walls, the main doorway and the south doorway are all Romanesque. There is very fine figural decoration on the south doorway and its porch; particularly notable are the capitals, with representations of Abraham's sacrifice, David playing the lute, etc. In the choir and the dome of the central apse are frescoes by Bayeu (1792). Beneath the high altar are the remains of Santa Orosia and the tomb of a 16th century bishop.
