Scarperia Attractions
The little industrial and agricultural town of Scarpería lies in a basin opening off the Sieve Valley. In the main square stands the massive Palazzo Pretorio (early 14th century), once the seat of the Vicars of the Mugello. There are numerous coats of arms on the facade and in the courtyard. Opposite the palazzo is the Prepositurale (Provostry Church), which contains a marble tondo of the Madonna and Child by Benedetto da Maiano.
Museo dell Ferri Taglienti
This new museum in the Via Solferino houses an impressive display of local handicrafts.
