Porto Torres Attractions
A pleasant drive through the coastal district of Nura leads to the little industrial town of Porto Torres (10m/33ft; pop. 21,000), the port of Sassari, situated in the Golfo dell'Asinara.
To the west of the harbor a seven-arched Roman bridge spans the little Rio Turritano, and near this are the remains of a large Temple of Fortuna, popularly known as the "Palazzo Re Barbaro".
