Boyle (Mainistir na Buille, "Monastery of the Pasture River") lies in northwestern Ireland at the foot of the Curlew Hills and on the north bank of the River Boyle, which links Lough Gara and Lough Key. The river is spanned by an old bridge. A market center, Boyle is one of the chief towns in Roscommon county.
