The Madison County Museum complex consists of an 1856 mansion, stone barn, Zion Church, Winterset Depot, field store, blacksmith, log school, and post office.
Pammel State Park is noted for the limestone ridge that provides a scenic overlook. The park is home to the Harmon Tunnel which was originally dug by William Harmon and his sons as a small chute to carry water diverted from Middle River to power a saw mill. The tunnel has been enlarged and now accommodates modern vehicles.
