Quad Cities Attractions

Quad Cities consists of Bettendorf (pop. 31,000) and Davenport (pop. 99,000), IA and Moline and Rock Island, IL. Bettendorf was originally named Gilbert. The town boasted the largest railroad car shop west of the Mississippi.

Davenport was founded in 1836 and developed from the traffic that flowed in and around Rock Island.

Davenport - Figge Art Museum (formerly Davenport Museum of Art)
The Davenport Municipal Art Gallery was opened in 1925. The Figge Art Museum draws on the history of the Davenport and has now begun a new phase which houses collections that include American, Mexican, Haitian, European and Contemporary art works. The Children's Orientation Gallery allows children to learn about art at their own level.
