Clarinda Attractions
The international 4-H organization got its start in Clarinda (pop. 5,700) in the early 1900s. Local teacher, Jessie Field, taught traditional subjects as well as practical agricultural skills.
The big-band leader Glenn Miller was born in Clarinda in 1904 in this two-story frame house. The home is furnished in period and features Miller memorabilia, including many photographs.
