Corfu to Palaiokastrítsa

From Corfu (town) the road runs northwest, close to the coast, passing the old fort of Abramo on a hill on the left. Farther on the island of Lazaretto can be seen in the sea to the right. 10km/6.5mi: Gouviá, with a Venetian arsenal of 1716.

Just beyond this a road branches off on the right and runs by way of Iàpsos, Pyrgí and Spartílas (alt. 424m/1,391ft) to Strinílas. From here it is an hour's climb (or a drive on a poor road) to a small rest-house, from which it takes 10 minutes to reach the Mt Pantokrátor.
