Narmada - Lingsar Temple Attractions
The Lingsar Temple, at the village of Narmada (a short distance north of Cakranegara), is venerated both by Hindus and by adherents of the Wetu Telu religion. The temple attracts large numbers of pilgrims of both faiths on a particular day at the beginning of the rainy season (October-December).
A split gate (candi bentar) leads into a broad avenue with a pool on either side. Half way along, on the left, is a Hindu temple on a square base (no admittance), with four shrines; the one on the left is oriented on Gunung Agung, the abode of the gods on the neighboring island of Bali.
There is a separate temple for those of the Wetu Telu faith. Beyond this are pools in which worshippers perform ritual ablutions.
