Loktak Lake
Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in northeast India and one of the most famous sights in Manipur.
Loktak forms part of Keibul Lamjao National Park and the lake is covered with floating 'islands' of thick matted weeds. Visitors can watch the inhabitants living on these small islands, view the colorful water plants and admire the shimmering blue waters.
Fishermen also live near the shores of Loktak Lake in neat huts as they ply their trade.
