Karnataka is situated in the Deccan Plateau and is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the west. Several national parks, wildlife sanctuaries and nature preserves are found within the state of Karnataka. With the highest elephant and Gaur bison population in India, tourists flock to the sanctuaries to view these creatures as well as the endangered tigers and leopards.
