Quad Cities consists of Bettendorf and Davenport, IA and Moline and Rock Island, IL.
Bettendorf was originally named Gilbert. The town boasted the largest railroad car shop west of the Mississippi.
Davenport was founded in 1836 and developed from the traffic that flowed in and around Rock Island.
Moline began as a milling town in 1838 and was incorporated in 1843.
Rock Island has a historical background that includes an American Indian settlement, the steamboat era and the Civil War.

Black Hawk State Historic Site
The Black Hawk State Historic Site is 207 acres in Rock Island and was named for the Indian warrior who led the natives into battle in the Black Hawk War. The Hauberg Indian Museum is found within the site and displays Indian relics. The collection of Dr. John Hauberg formed the basis for the displays including full-size replicas of Sauk winter and summer houses.

Celebration River Cruises
Celebration River Cruises feature sightseeing cruises on the Mississippi River in a replica steamboat called the Celebration Belle. The cruises include dinner and dance, sightseeing, and educational tours.

Deere & Company Administrative Center
The world headquarters of Deere and Company is a complex of three buildings completed in 1964. Antique and modern farm equipment, and a collage depicting American agriculture from 1837 to 1918 are on display. The main building is known as the "Rusty Palace" due to the choice of materials. The steel forms a layer of iron oxide.
John Deere Pavilion
The John Deere Pavilion in Moline was established to highlight agribusiness through interactive displays featuring food, farming and agricultural equipment. Vintage and modern equipment is on display.

Mississippi River Visitor Center
The Mississippi River Visitor Center allows visitors to watch boats pass through the locks, learn about water transportation on the Mississippi and watch a video presentation of the history of the locks.
Quad Cities Kids & Company (closed)
ATTRACTION IS CLOSED.
The hands-on interactive displays include a market, beauty salon, doctor's office and a cave with fossils. Another feature is a collection of miniature houses.

Quad City Botanical Center
The Quad City Botanical Center is located next to the Mississippi River in downtown Rock Island. Over 6,400 sq ft within this conservatory features tropical plants and trees, a 14 ft waterfall and reflecting pools. Highlights of the center include a Butterfly Garden, a Physically Challenged Garden, and a Children's Scrambled Alphabet Garden.
