Metropolis Attractions
Metropolis is the legendary home of Superman. There is a telephone booth used by the hero and a honorary statue. Metropolis is home to the oldest state park in Illinois, Fort Massac State Park. Picnicking, camping, hiking, boating, fishing, skiing and hunting are all available in the park.
Fort Massac State Park
Fort Massac State Park became Illinois' first state park in 1908. A reconstructed timber fort provides a hands-on experience.
Super Museum
The Super Museum in Metropolis is home to memorabilia and items from the Superman comics and TV shows including outfits worn by Christopher Reeves, drawings from the original creator and props used in Superman movies. The owner has over 100,000 items that are rotated in the exhibits.
