Brookfield Attractions

Brookfield was called Grossdale until 1905. It was named for Samuel Gross, who was responsible for the layout of this residential suburb in 1893. The community has developed into three - Brookfield, Hollywood and Congress Park.

The Brookfield Zoo contains a large collection of animals in well designed enclosures. Also on site are a Carousel, the Butterfly Exhibit, and a children's play area.
Grossdale Railroad Station
Grossdale Railroad Station, built in 1889, is the home of the Brookfield Historical Society. The station was moved in 1981 to the site of the original Village Hall.

Open on the second and fourth Sunday of the month from 1pm to 4pm.
