Sceaux - Musée de l'Ile de France
Sceaux, picturesquely situated on a hill southwest of Paris, has a Château built in 1856 on the site of an earlier building, set in a large park (228 hectares/563 acres) designed by Le Nôtre which is one of the most beautiful in the surroundings of Paris. The Château now houses the Musée de l'Ile de France (history, art, literature, folk traditions).
This site is 10km south of Paris.
A spectacular cascade of water falls away from the château into a large octagonal pool in this garden designed by Andre Le Notre.
