Bollnäs to Ljusdal

From Bollnäs, Road 83 goes north towards Ljusdal. At Växbo, on the east side of the road, is a 19th century mill which has been brought back into use (conducted tours). On the western shores of the Orsjö are good bathing beaches. To the west of Road 83 is the farm of Harsagården, a good base for walkers and anglers. Near here is the Svedbovallen upland grazing station (cows and goats; farm-made cheese). A few kilometers north, beautifully situated on the river Ljusna, lies the village of Järvsö, with Sweden's largest parish church (1838) on an island in the river. The farm of Stene Gård (19th C.), on the east bank of the river, is now a craft and cultural center. From the top of the Järvsjöklack (389m/1276ft) there are fine views of the
