Ål

3km/2mi beyond Gullhagen is Ål (alt. 437m/1,434ft, pop. 1,700), with a large 18th century church. Beyond Ål the Hallingdalselv opens out into the Strandefjord. The road continues along its north side. At Kleivi, at its western end, is the Hol 3 power station, and on the other side of the river the Usta station.
