The city of Henderson is generally considered a suburb of fast growing Las Vegas. The city originally grew up around the Basic Magnesium Plant but when the plant closed in the mid 20th Century,, a majority of the residents moved away. In the mid 1950s Henderson began to grow and has since become Nevada's second largest city.
