Helsingor Town Hall Description
(Local Name: Rådhus) To the northeast of Harbor Square lies Stengade, the main street of Helsingør and the main artery of a pedestrian zone. The street is lined with fine old houses. The Town Hall (1855) has glass mosaics in the Council Chamber with motifs depicting the town's history; they date from 1936-9 and are by Poul and Fanny Sæbye. On Strandgade, which marks the eastern edge of the pedestrian zone, more beautiful houses are to be seen, including the Old Pharmacy (1577 and 1642) at Nos. 77-79 and the Court Building (1520) at Nos. 72-74.
