Gilleleje

Approaching Gilleleje on the way from Helsingor, on a high cliff to the right of the road, can be seen Nakkehoved Lighthouse (54m/177ft; extensive views). From here it is 4 km/2.5 mi to Gilleleje, an old fishing village and popular holiday resort. From the breakwater there are good views over the Kattegat to the Swedish coast. Items of local interest, such as fishing equipment, costumes, etc., are displayed in the Gilleleje Museum at Rostgaardsvej 2. About 1 km/0.5mi west lies Gilbjerg Hoved, the most northerly point on Zealand.
