|
Puna is the eastern tip of the Big Island, just south of Hilo. The area is mainly covered with lava flow, which is the region's main attraction. The flows are the other edge of what is seen in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
One isolated Lava flow of interest is found in Lava Tree State Monument.
The central town in this area is Pahoa. The Cap Kumukahi Lighthouse is at the eastern tip of the region.
