Kula Attractions
Highways 37 and 377 on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, being near to Haleakala National Park and being of higher elevation to offers some respite from the heat of the central sugar cane plains has attracted some nice homes, communities and attractions. Highway 37 also turns into 31 which follows the south coast of Maui.

Kula - Holy Ghost Church
Holy Ghost Mission, an octagonal church, was built in 1894-7 by Portuguese settlers. The altar is from Austria. It is on the National Register because of its beauty and because it is the only octagonal structure in Hawaii.

Kula Botanical Gardens
At 3,000 feet on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, the Kula Botanical Gardens allows for a variety of tropical plants from around the world. The garden has been designed to be visually pleasant with little surprises such a pool with crowned cranes and trees which frame the view of the distant sea.
Maui Enchanting Floral Gardens
The Maui Enchanting Floral Gardens, located in the part of the country called "Upcountry" is an 8 acre garden with over 1500 species of tropical and semi-tropical plants and flowers. The plants and flowers from around the world include orchids, hibiscus, and jade vines.
