Rocky Boy Indian Reservation Description
The Rocky Boy Indian Reservation is located in northcentral Montana close to the Canadian border. It was established in 1916 and named for a Chippewa leader whose Indian name meant "Stone Child" and later changed to "Rocky Boy." The Chippewa and Cree Indians maintain a strong heritage through the annual Pow-Wow, featuring authentic Native American dancers and competitions.
