Halifax - Point Pleasant Park
Point Pleasant Park is closed to vehicles; these can be parked on Point Pleasant Drive, Tower Road, and near the container station.
There are magnificent views from this beautiful park, situated on the southernmost point of the Halifax peninsula, over Halifax harbor and the North West Arm. This is also the best place to watch "Bluenose II" cruising in the harbor under full sail.

There are plenty of footpaths and trails, as well as excellent picnic sites. Intrepid bathers can also take the plunge here.
For a long time this was a military no-go area, full of dugouts and fortifications, some of which can still be seen.
In the fall of 2003 Point Pleasant Park fell victim to Hurricane Juan where high winds knocked down large sections of trees. The park is much more open now.
