Hahndorf - Hans Heysen
Hahndorf is famed for its association with Sir Hans Heysen (1877-1968), a German-born artist who came to Australia in 1883 and later built himself an Alpine-style house on the outskirts of Hahndorf. He liked to paint the landscapes of the Adelaide Hills and Flinders Ranges. There are examples of his work to be seen in many places, including the Hahndorf Academy.
