Located on the southeast coast, Capesterre features the rocky facades (called galaries) of the coastal heights, Amerindian rock paintings and hiking trails. Visitors will also see a chapel carved into the rock cliff and the beach of Plage de la Feuillère.
After following a picturesque trail through desert vegetation, the visitor will arrive at Trou à Diable, a large karstic cave containing an underground lake. The main room of the cave is 900m/2,952 long and sightseers must be guided and wear breathing masks because of toxic mushroom growths on the walls.
Visitors can see and photograph the ruins of the refinery and the cable car system that brought sugar cane down from the heights. Usine De Bernard is reached via the Les Hauts de Capesterre hiking path.
