Grand Etang National Park

Grand Etang National Park in the interior of the island offers some beautiful scenery with great views and hiking trails. One of the main attractions in the park is the crater formed Grand Etang Lake. A visitors center offers information on the park and the trails.

Concord Falls & Trail
For serious hikers the Concord Falls Trail is a five hour hike leading to Concord Falls, with a possible detour to Concord village.
Fedon's Camp Trail
This is a long hike into Fedon's Camp, where Julien Fedon hid out in 1795 after massacring a group of British, including the British governor.
Grand Etang Shoreline Trail
The Shoreline Trail trail loops around Grand Etang Lake and takes less than two hours to complete. Along the trail are a wide range of flora in various sub-climatic regions.
Hiking Trails
From the Grand Etang visitors center there are several trails that lead through the park. Within the park are a variety of hikes from 20 minute walks to multiple hour long treks.
Morne LaBaye Trail
The Morne LaBaye Trail is a 30 minute self guiding interpretive trail leading past various types of native plants, including the Grand Etang fern.
Mt Qua Qua Trail
Mount Qua Qua Trail is a three hour hike to a high point which offers views over the forest. Total hiking time is approximately three hours.
Seven Sisters Falls
Seven Sisters Falls hike begins off the Grand Etang Road and leads to a series of seven waterfalls. There is a stand at the beginning of the trail and an admission is charged. The hike takes approximately one hour.
